Emily Clark, MA

I am a passionate educator who loves helping children overcome reading
challenges, especially those associated with dyslexia. I believe every
child deserves the opportunity to become a confident, capable reader.
My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment
where my clients feel understood, recognize their strengths, and
experience success in their reading journey.

I have been teaching at the elementary level in Fort Collins since
2018. I have completed specialized dyslexia training through Reading
REV and the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE). I provide
structured literacy tutoring using the Barton Reading & Spelling
System and UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute). Through
explicit, systematic instruction, I help children strengthen their
reading and spelling skills while building the confidence they need to
become independent readers.

My passion for helping children with dyslexia is deeply personal. When
my own daughters struggled with reading in elementary school, they
were each diagnosed with dyslexia and experienced anxiety related to
their reading challenges. Walking alongside them through these
struggles gave me a personal understanding of the academic and
emotional challenges that children with dyslexia and their families
may face. These experiences have shaped me as both a parent and an
educator and have strengthened my commitment to helping children find
success. I understand that learning to read is about more than
mastering skills; it is also about building confidence, developing
resilience, and discovering the joy of learning.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Health Education from Texas A&M
University and my master’s degree in Elementary Education from the
University of Northern Colorado. Before becoming an educator, I spent
13 years working in public health in Texas and California. After my
daughters were born, I transitioned into early childhood education,
working as a preschool teacher and later as a preschool director in
North Carolina. My family and I moved to Fort Collins in 2017, and I
am grateful to call this community home.

As a tutor, I bring together my teaching experience, specialized
training, and personal understanding of dyslexia to support each
client’s individual needs. I want my clients to know that reading
challenges do not define them or limit their potential. My greatest
hope is to help children grow into confident readers who believe in
themselves and feel empowered to succeed both in and out of the
classroom.
