I am passionate about supporting children with dyslexia and reading disabilities and believe every child deserves the opportunity to become a confident reader. With nearly two decades of experience as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, and reading interventionist, I have worked closely with students in kindergarten through fifth grade to help them thrive academically and personally.

I hold a Ph.D. in Education from Colorado State University and am a licensed Colorado elementary educator with endorsements in Early Childhood Education and Special Education Generalist. My work is grounded in evidence‑based literacy practices and the science of reading, with extensive training in Orton‑Gillingham–based approaches, including IMSE and the Barton Reading Program. I provide structured, multisensory instruction tailored to each child’s unique learning profile, with a strong focus on building confidence.

In addition to working with students, I served on the Colorado Department of Education Dyslexia Task Force and contributed to the completion of the CDE Dyslexia Fact Sheet and Dyslexia Handbook. I have taught and mentored future educators in higher education. I was a professor and program director (Early Childhood Teacher Licensure) at Colorado State University for 11 years.

My approach is collaborative and strengths‑based, partnering closely with families and schools to support students across settings.

I was born and raised in Fort Collins and am grateful to be raising my two boys here with my husband. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, yoga, reading, and jigsaw puzzles
